One of the urgent tasks of studying modern media systems of the countries of the world is the development of their classification, which allows for more reasonable comparative studies of national mass media systems. In this paper, an attempt is made to create such a classification using structural analysis, supplemented by taking into account the development of new media and media consumption of various sectors of national media systems in order to identify their distribution in terms of importance. Three main groups of national media systems of the countries of the world have been identified.
