National-cultural Features of Yanyu and Proverbs with the Fire Component

The study of yangyu in Chinese and proverbs in Russian in a comparative aspect is relevant, since modern technologies provide access to data inaccessible to researchers of the past. The purpose of the study is to identify the national and cultural characteristics of Yangyu and proverbs with the "fire" component. The potential metaphorical characteristics of the lexeme "fire" were determined by analyzing the interpretations in philological dictionaries, the specifics of the implementation of national and cultural meanings in the internal form of the studied units. To analyze the features of fixing cultural constants of the object "fire" in Russian and Chinese linguistic cultures, we provide a description of folklore and cultural codes. Based on the examples of contextual use of the studied phraseological units collected in national text corpora, we have determined their connotative characteristics, as well as the peculiarities of the reflection of national cultural values in the studied languages. The paper provides statistical data based on the collected card index of proverbs and Yangyu.
