Explication of the Linguo-Psychological Type "Rogue" in the Book Series by P.G. Wodehouse

The linguo-psychological type "rogue" in the context of the literary tradition of depicting a roguish servant occupies an important place in culture and reflects the social and cultural realities of its time. Despite the availability of publications on the image of a roguish servant in literature, there are no studies on the specifics of this image as one of the ways to implement the linguistic and psychological type of "rogue". The purpose of this study is a comparative analysis of the characteristic features of the image of butler Jeeves from the cycle of works by P.G. Wodehouse as a representative of the linguistic and psychological type of "rogue" with typical characteristics of the image of a roguish servant in literature. The study allows a conclusion that Jeeves is a prime example of the linguistic and psychological type of "rogue" and the trope of the roguish servant, whose characteristics include cunning, loyalty, intellectual superiority, the ability to plan and anticipate events, willingness to break the rules, mastery of transformation, and self-interest. The obtained results contribute to the development of the theory of the linguo-psychological type of "rogue".
