Transcoding of Slang Neologisms from A. Burgess’s novel “A Clockwork Orange

Understanding and interpretation of slang neologisms in the aspect of translating
a literary text emphasize the difficulties of achieving full equivalence in the transmission of slang, the need to take into account the context and the target audience, as well as the influence of these factors on the semantics and style of translation. The purpose of the study is to identify the specifics of translating slang neologisms from English into Russian and conveying their meanings in the context of A. Burgess's novel "A Clockwork Orange". The analysis of the material is carried out in order to identify the original meaning, emotional coloring and structure of the text, as well as to reveal trends in the transmission of cultural contexts. The study focuses on the problems of translating non-standard Burgess's English slang into Russian, demonstrating significant variability in the approaches of translators. The study of slang neologisms and their translational variants in the novel by A. Burgess is conducted in the "nadsat" interpretation format, based on the fact that the slang neologism nadsat is a unique example of a translation problem related to the transfer of culturally specific elements into a modern language.
