The Media System of the Russian Far East as a Resource for Integration: Trends, Opportunities, Problems

The current state of the media system in the Russian Far East, in the context of its influence on integration with Asia-Pacific countries and the implementation of the Eurasian policy and the "Pivot to the East" policy, represents an area of pressing issues that have remained largely unaddressed by scholarly and practical media research. The purpose of this study is to draw recommendations for the development of the media system in the Far Eastern Federal District and create forecast scenarios for such development in the near future. The research also addresses issues of territorial branding and regional development in line with the objective of ensuring accelerated economic growth and addressing socioeconomic issues. The article examines the political, economic, and humanitarian aspects of media development, describes the main trends in the influence of media on the implementation of Russia's "Pivot to the East" ("Eastern Vector") policy, and suggests recommendations for its improvement. The study substantiates the importance of developing regional media and their high-quality content in the context of the evolving information and consumer societies, taking into account globalization, regionalization, and integration with Asia-Pacific countries. The study also reveals the role of media in the development of the Far East. The obtained results open up new prospects for further study of the media of the Far Eastern Federal District in the context of the socio-economic and political processes of development of this mega-region.
