Abstract

Psychological and pedagogical classes are considered in modern educational policy as an effective mechanism for early training of teaching staff. However, the traditional criteria for the effectiveness of the psychological and pedagogical classes (the proportion of students enrolled in pedagogical universities, the average score of the Unified State Exam) record only external indicators and do not reflect the quality of professional self-determination. The purpose of this study is to develop and theoretically substantiate a structural and functional model of pedagogical monitoring as a tool to support the conscious choice of profession by students of psychological and pedagogical classes. The research is based on system-activity (L.S. Vygotsky, A.N. Leontiev), subjective approach (S.L. Rubinstein,
K.A. Abulkhanova-Slavskaya) and personality-oriented (E.V. Bondarevskaya, V.V. Serikov) approach. The methods of theoretical analysis, modeling and typologization are used. As a result of the research, the concept of conscious choice of profession has been clarified, five criteria have been identified (stability, reasonableness, realism, consistency with individual characteristics, reflexive awareness) and five types of deficits that hinder it (informational, motivational, reflexive, volitional, identification). A structural and functional model of pedagogical monitoring has been developed, which includes four blocks, four stages and a typology of graduates ("conscious follower", "hesitant", "accidental", "redefined"). The results obtained contribute to the theory of professional self-determination, offering a theoretically sound tool for overcoming formalism in career guidance.
